he was taken to a local hospital conscious and breathing. not much more information on that. th last night there were several events. yesterday was the yard fest seen at a watershed event for a lot of up and coming performances. we don't know if this was after that because there was another location or what have you but nonetheless the howard university home coming parade will get under way. street closures will begin about 309 this morning from fairmont street on the north down to florida avenue on the south. if you head down this way or you're heading across town just expect delays and closures because of that. a parade gets under way due to be over about 1:00 p.m. and then you have the home coming game and later a post home coming game event as well. so several other events that have been going on for the past couple days. of course this is the only one marred by violence. of course that has not stopped the actual home coming festivities here and hopefully the mood will be one that will be celebratory of what is going on here as opposed to any distractions. we are live in
